Time: 09.45 to 16.00
Venue: Apollo Victoria Theatre, London

What the day will involve
- A discussion about the role of a Musical Director and how the music department at Wicked works, followed by a Q&A.
- A tour of the orchestra pit and an introduction to the instruments, keyboard set-up and technology used in the production.
- A practical keyboard workshop using music from one of Wicked's best-known songs. You will have time to familiarise yourself with the set-up before playing the extract in context with a conductor and other keyboard players.
- An open conducting workshop using music from the show, with keyboard and drums. Each participant will have the opportunity to conduct one of Wicked's well-known songs and receive practical guidance from the music team while the rest of the group observes and learns from the session.
- A 15-minute one-to-one conversation to discuss your experience, career path and useful next steps.
Music and preparation materials will be shared with successful applicants in advance.

How participants will be selected

- what the applicant hopes to gain from the workshop and whether the opportunity is well matched to their current stage of development
- conducting experience, where relevant, as an additional consideration rather than an essential requirement.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a brief online conversation before final selections are made.
